ATL EXP - Atlanta Experimental Film Festival
Selected films screen live on July 10 at 7 Stages Theater in Little Five Points, one of Atlanta’s most creative neighborhoods.
The festival is part of the Atlanta Film Series, which has been presenting independent film events for nearly 25 years.
We welcome experimental films of all kinds including experimental narrative, unconventional animation, hybrid documentary, mixed media work, abstract films, and projects that are difficult to categorize.
Some films are funny. Some are strange. Some are dark or surreal. If your film takes risks or explores new ideas, it belongs here.
The Festival
Expect a full day and night of screenings, Q&As, panels, and connection. The festival feels like a creative lab. People come to watch bold work, share ideas, and meet other creators who love cinema that steps outside the mainstream.
What We Are Looking For
We want shorts that take risks. Films that get strange. Films that twist expectation or play with tone. Dark work. Funny work. Disturbing work. Beautiful work. Anything that lives on the edges of narrative or technique. If your film is weird, wild, handcrafted, tech driven, or hard to classify, ATL EXP is the right place.
